Who should I code now?
One Piece A-Edition Demo(1.8) Progress
Hello everyone!!. Team-A is back working on One Piece A-Edition!! But you all must be wondering, "Why would they call it Demo 1.8, when its supposed to be Demo 2". The answer is that a change in the hardcore plans for the game happened:
Lately, some people has been getting the famous "Couldn't create art surface" error. It happens because the game is loading a lot of .dat files with lots of sorta-large sprites (e.g: Gear Third Sprites, and some other large hellmoves' sprites). The LF2 engine basically won't be enough for future releases, and so, we Team-A decided to make ourselves an engine, the A-Engine . The engine will have a very lots of simillarities with the LF2 engine (such that we won't have to redo everything for the game). You can think of this as an upgraded LF2 engine which will feature the following:
1-Full screen and larger maps.
2-Support transparency and HD effects.
3-Shadows won't be circles anymore, but real ones.
4-No more unlock codes. Bosses will be unlocked once you beat them.
5-HP and MP will not be held above the game screen, but rather than that, each character will have his HP and MP under him (Click HERE)
6-More technical features that will make coding complicated One Piece attacks much easier and much more smooth (Law's ability for instance)
7- In-BG effects will be there (E.g: Whitebeard hellmove will cause some real tremor )
8- And the most important thing: No more senseless bugs.
9- Some other technical stuff.
And since doing that engine will take a considerable amount of time in skool days (can be done in a month if in holidays), we will be working on another release on the LF2 engine. Only 2-4 new characters will be added (even if I wanted to do more, the LF2 engine can't take it).
So the character I am working on right now iiiis:
Marco the Phoenix
Progress will be posted soon (I am having the 3rd quarter exams now, so excuse me if I am a lil' bit slow).

Hero Fighter cannot be modded. In fact, its just a flash game.. The engine we will be doing will be done from scratch. It may look like it will take tooo long, but it won't really do that. Its just like I am gonna redo the tags while some changes (upgrades) along. The game .dat files should run on the new engine normally with some slight changes so do not worry

Alright, so, I have been very in-active for the past week, however, I have been working on the game for that time. I am almost done with Marco (2 more moves including the Finisher), so I thought I should post something here.
As we all know, Marco is a Zoan DF user. He has a sh*t load of combos and offers the player lots of control. His attacks are mainly kicks, and they are all strong and defense breakers.
Here are some screenies for his gameplay:
Now any comments or suggestions are welcome and are appreciated.

Here are some screenies for his gameplay:
- 3hit combo:
Marco jumps and attacks the opponent with his claws:
- Dash Attack (a combo of 2 attacks):
Marco slides knocking the opponent upwards:
Press A again to jump and do a double kick!!:
Yes!! Marco can fly! Marco goes into his flying stance automatically after each winged air attack:
- Jump attack:
A simple kick with the claw, then Marco goes to his flying stance:
- Maneuver:
This move is actually more of a dodging move. A very good one to get away from the opponent smoothly and quickly (as Marco flys backwards and upwards):
- Bruce Lee kick 1 (didn't know what to call it):
Note: It can be charged to kick into a longer range.
- Self Heal:
Requires full MP. Stays for about 5 seconds to heal quarter of your HP. You can't be hit while doing it:
- Knee Kicks Combo:
First knee kick:
Press A for a second knee kick:
Press A to do a Headbutt:
- Full Phoenix Tackle + Bruce Lee Kick 2:
Credits to thatfella for the idea of the move
Marco transforms into a phoenix which bashes through the opponents knocking them away. MP drains fast and your red hp is healed while you are at that form. Press Attack to do Bruce Lee Kick 2:
- Flying:
Marco can fly. To fly, you can either do any air attack which nexts to the flying stance, or press D+J. Moves which drives you into the flying stance are: Maneuver, Dash Attack's double kick, Jump attack and the knee kick. Flying drains MP slowly as well:
Press J while flying to fly forward, and press J again while flying forward to fly higher. You can always press D to go back to the flying stance. Or press D while in the flying stance to draw the wings.:
And press A while flying to do a down kick:

Whoa, both bruce lee kicks look like they would be fun to use in stage mode...just wipe out a whole line of marines progress looks great!

Ok so finally (can't beleive it has been a month since I've posted here) I am posting something here. As usual, I have been very busy and I couldn't do much progress. Anyways, here is Marco's Punch/Claw combo:
I wasn't really satisfied with how the hell move I made looked, so I did'nt bother completing it. So we will just move to the next character, and do Marco's hell move later.
So guys, I am now going to do a new character. You can vote in the new poll for whom should I code first:

i think it was marco turning into a bird.
go crocodile!!!! i think robin should wait till the new engine since her moves are some of the most complicated. kizaru would be easy but since hes a jerk ( perfect reasoning ) i voted for croc. he was in an older version so i bet A-man knows how to remake him better.

i dont think that any TS characters are gonna appear untill the team finishes all the pre-ts characters they want. so you might have to wait a while, but dont worry, most of the characters are very fun to play with so you wont notice.

Lucky bastard's ideas:
Desert spada: Single sand blade
Desert la spada: Makes multiple bigger sand blades
Desert grande spada: Biggest sand blade
Ground Secco: I guess kind of like Aokiji's Ice age, but sand, and it can stun opponents?
Sables: makes a sand tornado.
Sables Pesado: Bigger tornado, throws enemies higher and more damage
Turns into sand, dashes forward, and grabs the enemy. From here, you can either:
1: Combo the crap out of the enemy...like multiple punches/hook strikes
2: Throw them up, then impale them with his hook
3: Dry the enemy up
4: Create a sables to throw them away
He could also have a transformation move were he uses his poisonous hook, so all his normal attacks do damage over time.

Then comes a slash with the hook:
Aaand then, Barchan!:
- Some attack I dunno its name:
Knocks the opponent high:
- Sables/Sables Pesado:
Crocodile builds up a very dense tornado in his hand. You can either press A at that moment, or wait to charge:
Press A before charged for "Sables":
Or wait till charged and press A for "Sables Pesado":
Oh and yes, the sand storm chases. But its still slow.

That shape is the result of enlargement. I needed to enlarge the storm so it suits the game better, but it looked soo low quality. But don't worry, you will get used to itWow, looks good! But for the Sables Pesado, I think it would look cooler if it were more solid looking.

- Desert Spada+ Desert Girasole (I think this is what they call it):
Crocodile forms his right hand into a loose blade of fast-moving sand and then stabs it into the ground, extending it along the ground like a torpedo (source:One Piece Wikia):
Press A and then crocodile forms another one which is more of a moving blades of sand:

Hey A-man, I think you should add/fix the grabs in the game. I think that you shouldn't be able to grab characters like in LF2, but perhaps grab them with certain special moves?

Grab?? I don't think they do,do they? If you are talking about that marine grab bug in the stage mode? Will try to fix it. (already tried, but there is some curse in the frames of the problem)

Thanks, I'll try to explain it better. By adding grabs, I meant that only certain characters will perform grab moves, like Jinbei, crocodile, Robin, etc. By fixing grabs, I meant that during the "dance of pain" you can't be grabbed normally (Like in LF2).
To expand on pack's idea, In Kaizuko Musou, Crocodile has a move where he turns into sand and dashes towards you. From there, he can either slash you, do a slash combo, or grab you + do a slash combo + poison you. I was thinking that the final move (Sand+grab+slash+poison) will replace the current dash that he uses now, after crocodile uses a transformation move, which would enable him to use poison.

Nice attack idea, BUT the problem is that, its not possible to do poison effects in the LF2 engine. Another reason for why I didn't make an awesome character, Magellan, yet. Ah, I see. So then leave out the poison transformation, then when demo 2 is released, he'll have a power boost
