They're called anticipation frames XD And yea, I'll add one or two, but I'm trying to avoid making the start up time too big otherwise the move would be too easy to dodge. Its fixing up the poses more....

YES it looks so darn epic.. (viewing first time from PC)
the movements are perfect, the wait/delay when we fills in air to his thumb can be a bit faster, along with the 2 extra frames that you'll add up..
can't wait to try this out! XD

So Luffy has a new mechanic, the quick jump. you press J while in the crouch frames and you'll do a quick jump. Useful for dodging attacks.  You can't double jump if quick jumping, so they're some drawbacks.  

Think it'll be exclusive to luffy and a few other 'springy' characters.  I dont see law jumping like this lol.

A back flip? It's a cool idea, but I think we already have a looot of basic moves for the character's formula. What would a back flip be keyed?
Also, a change in plans. The quick jump will be keyed JJ (just tap jump fast).

I like the last g2 version most.
The quick jump is a great idea, and the fact that some of the charecters won't be able to use it makes it more special. With more simillar movement- based ideas every character can have a unique battle strategy.
Elephant gun looks awesome! Luffy becomes a bit OP though...

You guys should use sfx from Smoker vs Vergo for bludgeon type attacks(punches, kicks etc). That was done great.. it really got their power across, especially vergo lol

@dordd1: Thanks! Luffy is not really OP. Law can literally own him if handled by a good player. Plus, that elephant gun, despite the fact that it is going to be a normal move, takes a loot of time charge. I don't see how one would be hit except if he is either too busy fighting someone else or too stupid. I think elephant gun is best used against hordes of enemies or to interrupt a fight between 2 people.

@thunder: Thank you =).

@Flash: Yeah lol. Z has just did some really cool Armamenting effect. Pack or Mark perhaps should rip off the sounds effects.

Oh and so the new life bars, the heart is the stamina bar.  Also as a gimmick of Law, when he steals your heart your stamina bar disappears.  We figured it would be a 'cleaner' way to show a 'heartless' state when your heart is stolen, and there is the added bonus of disabling your opponent's view of their own stamina bar to mess up their pace.  Also the heart will burn pink when Luffy is in gear 2 mode :p


edit: oh and the g2's jet pistol effects are still crappy pixelated because I still need to make new png effects XD

@A-Man: I think it will be very hard to use elephant gun since it take time to charge, how about exhausted state that will happen when you don't have enough stamina and you try to use some move that take more stamina by force. We can use the move but the character will be in exhausted state after using the move

Anyway BADASS luffy!!! he's really cool now, i can't wait to play this awesome game !!!

Yes, the effects were amazing lol.. Luffy vs Chinjao is gonna be insane!!

Damn those hit sparks look cool :DDidn't even know they were called that. Hopefully with the demo release of a complete Law and Luffy I can make my friend like One Piece.. hopefully haha.

Oh, and one more important thing i may or may not have mentioned is that i think luffy's moves should hit anywhere his arm moves, not just the area where it hits. i just find it almost impossible to hit moving targets, or even targets that stand still for that matter. the thing that pisses me off is that i always try to hit someone with pistol and my arm just moves right past him without hitting him, same with bazooka, and pretty much all of his moves.

We took out the exhausted state because it got in the way of gameplay too much, but with timing or some combo you should be able to hit with elephant gun

It looks great. The map really makes you just think, damn the One Piece world is huge. Question: Is elephant gun gonna be long or mid range? Since it stretches.

wow! it looks really good! also the song matches up perfectly! great job!
i think what will make it better is maybe the map or the edges of it shaking in the wind, that'd be pretty cool.

Looks great! Everything!
Like riq said it would be nice to add wind but make the map move after the last thing shows but according to the music and i don't know how about you but for me the ship's movement is a bit laggy
Great job guys keep going Very Happy

Edit: Forgot to add, the compass's shadow isn't moving right. the middle of the shadow doesn't need to move.

I think that barfix says the compass' needle, and yes, the ship's movement needs to be smother.
Some ideas:
-when moving the mouse over the screen the map moves as well.
-when selecting an Option the Button disappear in different ways like (with flame, with a slash, freeze...) like the habilities of the characters.
