Forum Updates and Improvements!

I'll list all the special features and updates of the forum which members may or may not know about, feel free to post your comments and feedback regarding the updates! Smile

Quick Search: Just type anything anywhere on the forum (except in the topics) and a small type box will appear in the up-right corner, you can search for whatever you wrote in the forum
New Rank Titles: I made some new rank titles which may look like this: "Pirate Subordinate".
Forum Awards: There will be certain awards in the forum, which you may win in contests and stuff, if you help members you can receive a helper award!

Oh yea?? Here is an awesome idea which I would love to have it here:
The Forum Lottery. Basically, each month, members can buy as much tickets as they want with belies. At the end of each month, a ticket number will be randomly chosen, and the winner will get all the belies paid for tickets. And ofcourse, the more tickets you buy, the more chances you get Very Happy

What do you think? Can you do this???

pleaaaaaase how about some awesome smilies? pokegames has some hilarious ones, so does NTSD last time i checked.

A-MAN : actually i try to make animated rank =_= kinda hard lol,where troll and artist award w/e,when i imagine back...forum will look messy if you use that awards =_=, you can test put award at your profile (all of them) then you can tell.

Oh nice ideas! Applied some awards on my self, and they don't look that messy. Who doesn't agree with me? Some still need some workout, I know..

~Greetings fellas, sometimes I feel that I post a lot in this thread, but what can I do, I have yet another update XD

AJAX Preview system has been added to the forum!

pretty self-explanatory, just write a message and preview it, an overlay will appear on the screen, without redirecting you to another page.. I am kinda in love with stuff that makes it work without reloading page! (thats what pretty much AJAX is all about)
I know the styling currently doesn't match the theme but I will do it later when the forum design have been revised and remade..

In case someone have been thinking that adding hell loads of features in forum will effect its performance in terms of speed then don't worry, nothing is really heavy, all are light and simple codes!

Feel free to ask any questions and your comment on it!

Hey! I don't know if this is the right place, about the color of the forum, I suggest brown and dark brown color. I know someone said blue and white is like the sea (Can't remember who, maybe A-man) but brown is more like a ship. Cause people come "aboard" :p Hope you consider it!

Hey beta, I really don't think the whole theme would be changed, but I am already working on getting the brightness low and some more darkens and fixes..
We guys are also working on "BUTTONS" which are the wooden style which you speak of.. Give us a bit of time and we'll consider your review again,

Some little updates to the Text Editor! Smile

As you might have noticed, a new button "H" has been added.
It is Header tag.

Using it, you can create headlines make look actually important and good.

Example:

NEW UPDATES

(this is h2)

Text Editor Update

(this is h3)

New tags have been added in it!

(this is h4)

Apart from that, some new fonts have been added as well.
You can select them by using "A" button.

Quote Button Update

Now the page no longer changes upon quote. The content will just be added in the quick reply editor.
If you only want to quote a specific part of the message, just highlight that part with your mouse and press the quote button.

Chatbox Update

Now this is just some experimentation..
I, for the time-being switched to the default chatbox that now appears on the bottom of the homepage but with a bit new features.
Avatars are shown next to the messages
You can Edit/Delete your own messages.

Be sure to let me know if you like this or not or to bring back the old chatbox.

Hello guys! There are some cool new stuff implemented by Forumotion yesterday that are reeeaaally cool Smile

Hashtag System :

Just as it sounds, we can now tag the posts by using the hashtags!

A Hashtags is a label for content. It helps members who are interested in a certain topic, quickly find content on that same topic.
The symbol of Hashtags is: #

A hashtag looks something like this - [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Once you click on the hashtags, you can see ALL the other posts that are tagged with the same hashtags. Really convenient Smile

Mentioning System :

We can now mention users by using the " @ " symbol.
It gives you the ability to identify and reference people in a post.
Example : [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] this is a test Razz

If the usernames have symbols then mentioning will be a little difficult.
Use " " to help then.
To mention Mark, we need to use

Code:: @"-|Mark975|-"

And hence we can mention him like this [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

As of now, this doesn't serve MUCH purpose itself, but once I incorporate the Toolbar, we can get notifications if someone mentions us.
Also we can follow some hashtags if we'd like, so whenever they are tagged, we get notified too Smile
