Marine Grunt actions
Feel free to shoot any suggestions about actions and interactions with the marines. Even though they're just grunt, they're a huge part of game play and we dont want to neglect their character.
Freak Out- Grunts get scared and cower or run away when a "super" attack like giant pistol is used.
Salute- When a marine of a higher rank appears they salute. (maybe you can trick them somehow?)
Bounty Poster?- Maybe when a marine spots you they can take out some bounty posters and then shout "mugiwara!" and point at you. In that moment you could just attack them or something. Idk, might make it more interactive.
Passive- Since we have platforms and such, an interesting part of game play could be stealth. Marines could just be chilling out around the stage and only attack if they spot you. Could be a fun use of platforms in story mode to just avoid the marines. In the future we might be able to do disguises like they're doing in dessarosa. A mustache image we put over every character is pretty simple.
Eating/drinking- They could be relaxing on the side somewhere and you can beat them up and steal their food.
Sleeping-
Playing Cards-
Reading Newpaper
Calling Reinforcements - The commander calls some Reinforcements if they are in Alert/Fear.
Someone are Buffs, i dont know if they can be called Interactions xD Well, they could have an icon in their heads showing the Buffs.
Tenryuubito

Re: Marine Grunt actions
Consider adding Tenryuubito which if attacked call's for random admiral and the marine forces. Soldiers will concentrate their actions on the character which attacked Ten-ryuu and will let the others alone or even let them escape ( do some kind of system of relationship between chars. e.g. our team includes Luffy, XDrake, Urouge, Admiral - when Luffy attacks Ten-ryuu, there could be a possibility that XDrake and Urougue will escape and if we already have admiral in our team he will attack us ) It's complicated though and may not fit some players so it could be an option avalible only in co-op stage mode. - teammate escape chance could depend on relations between characters and HP level.
What a crazy idea but may be inspirational.
Another option is to add buster call when we won't eliminate commander in time and he'll be terrified for long peroid of time.

Re: Marine Grunt actions
marines should have at least one soldier who carry den den mushi. If the marines decreasing, they should call backup.

Re: Marine Grunt actions
I like Beta's idea.. He should just run like a coward towards a safe corner and call marines..
Re: Marine Grunt actions
Yea that sounds good, also maybe you can pick up the den den mushi the marine dropped and call for backup yourself....so you can beat them up.
Tenryuubito sounds really cool too XD Would be cool if islands were randomly attacked and a Tenryuubito coming to enslave the islanders could be one of them.
The other suggestions sound great too, keep it up XD

Re: Marine Grunt actions
I might consider awarding trophies to those who contribute a lot with great ideas.
Re: Marine Grunt actions
Why not bellies?
Oh, was playing Infamous and the enemies do this thing where they put their hands up and surrender if you kill their commander or are just wrecking and they don't stand a chance. Should marines just have this state where they surrender and you can choose to finish them or leave them alone?
idk if there should be karma or some benefit to it or if it should just be for fun.

Re: Marine Grunt actions
It depends on the marine lol. I mean some give no ****s haha. Stage mode would have to be really expansive to be sneaking past marines. I think an admiral should only come if you don't take out the grunt with the den den mushi in time?
